MONTE CAVALLO will need to settle better than he did when flattering to deceive at Sandown but in the hope that he does Michael Wigham's charge gets the vote. Yet to win since arriving from South Africa, our pick has dropped down to an attractive mark and he did win over just short of two miles there so stamina isn't an issue. Chief threat among the opposition may well be Snoqualmie Star, who won here over a mile in July and shaped at Nottingham as though 1m3f wouldn't be a problem, although a 5lb rise for that narrow defeat might just be. Mannlichen has dropped down to the same mark that saw him win here last winter and he'll be a threat to all if allowed to dominate although with stablemate Lovers Causeway and Cobo Bay in opposition that may not be easy. Sea Change has the worst of the draw but he's a fascinating handicap debutant and support must be taken very seriously.
