Verdict

Just the six runners and of them ASHRAM makes most appeal, in preference to Captain Ramius and Standpoint. With two debutants and the other four having only had one race each, a market check is advised before trying a wager. The selection, with an entry for next month's Dewhurst Stakes, won nicely on debut at Newmarket last month, when coming from off the pace. He ran a bit green at times, but will have learned from that run. A low draw in a small field will help. Captain Ramius steps up a couple of grades after winning last month over course and distance. He's Mark Wallace's only runner on the card. Standpoint represents Sir Michael Stoute and could be anything; likewise the other debutant Sir Al, one of the three from Karl Burke's stable, who make up half the runners. Ashram sets the standard though and is our preference.
