Verdict

With just three pounds separating 13 of the 14 runners this has the makings of a trappy clash; narrow preference is for one of a few maidens in the field LADY ASPEN. Ian Williams' mare was a tad unlucky to find just one too good last time in the form of stablemate Aphrodisia. She looks quite well-handicapped herself and as there was only a short-head in it at the line, it looks the best bit of form in the race. She is well-drawn, along with rivals Torquemada and Eleanor Eloise. The former has fallen down the weights in 2008 but ran a fair race last time at Lingfield. He is a player, but his winless streak of 18 on the all-weather raises concerns. Eleanor Eloise is a maiden who represents a stable in fair form. Her recent third reads ok but she may be more of a place prospect once again. Straight Face and Jessica Wigmo are two course and distance winners who are well-treated but not in the best form of late, Fun In The Sun has been given a mini-break since a disappointing last run, whilst Bollywood Style has had a few training problems but should come on for a recent fourth at the track and rates as a big threat. As competitive as they come, but preference is for Lady Aspen.
