Pactolus won last year’s renewal and Oisin Murphy rides having abandoned the former’s stablemate Via Serendipity, who hasn’t figured since beating Masham Star at Chelmsford in June. Seniority has slipped only 3lb down the weights this year despite failing to win and finished just behind Chiefofchiefs at Ascot last month though neither looked like winning. Pinnata has a shout on an earlier second at Sandown and Bacacarat won a lower grade contest here back in May but KASBAAN (NAP) makes most appeal. The latter landed a course and distance double last month on his first couple of outings for Mick Appleby’s yard. He has a hike in the weights to contend here with but won with plenty to spare last time and looks worth sticking with.
