Verdict

Hammersly Lake beat Charbel on worse terms at Perth in the autumn but Kim Bailey’s charge turned that form on its head in a Grade 2 at Huntingdon last month. Speredek seems better over shorter trips nowadays and will likely face a battle for the lead. It’s a while since Black Corton ran over a trip this short and he made mistakes again before being pulled up at Newbury last month. TOP NOTCH (NAP) won at Ascot and Taunton last season so should enjoy himself around here. He ran better than expected on his reappearance over hurdles and can enhance an already impressive strike-rate under Rules.
