A pretty awful maiden really and Cape Cobra can provide us with the answer, with L'Hirondelle an interesting newcomer and Sophia Gardens another for the short list. The selection carries first time blinkers here and was getting the hang of things a bit more last time when runner up at Salisbury. The headgear will hopefully help galvanise him to greater things and his form thus far is good in context here, so he gets the nod. L'Hirondelle is the Godolphin representative and his dam was a 6f winner as a juvenile, so it is difficult to assess how this three-year-old will perform over 7f on debut. He should be comfortable enough and this may prove to be a good opportunity unearthed by connections. Sophia Gardens has shown some promise but never quite delivered thus far in six attempts. She sees out this trip well and her best form is entitled to see her involved, so she can make the frame, but Cape Cobra just gets the nod.
