In depth

Verdict

Slate House is 3-5 around here but is the senior runner in this and conceding weight all round. It’s almost certain that 3m was too far for UP THE STRAIGHT at Ascot last time and, eased in grade, Richard Rowe’s charge would have a chance at the weights in this on his best form. Kap Auteuil won off a 5lb higher mark at Stratford last year but Quick Draw is the only one of these that managed to complete last time and that first victory over fences at Uttoxeter should have given his confidence a boost.
