Lexington Force is penalised for making a winning start over track and trip, though that was back in February, and Mutalahef hasn’t raced since finishing runner-up here at the end of last year. Several of these made promising debuts only to disappoint last time including Endured, Magical Dragon and Performance Poet. The former is preferred having been beaten only a neck here earlier but John Gosden has sent out the last two winners of this and given LEAD SINGER finished a creditable fifth at Haydock on his debut despite having reportedly bled from the nose, he gets the vote.
