In depth

Verdict

Isis Blue is the only one easily dismissed in tight handicap. Even Hasanan has a chance on her first start since August as she finished fourth in Listed company at Newmarket last season but this looks between the recent winners. Flashlight beat little to land his maiden at Wolverhampton last month and Melvin The Grate's maiden victory over track and trip in November looks stronger form. Byroness bids for a hat-trick of handicap wins off a 7lb higher mark today and the unbeaten MYSTICAL SAPPHIRE has been raised 8lb for her latest win over course and distance, but Jo Crowley's filly beat a couple of subsequent winners with the minimum of fuss on her handicap debut and is worth sticking with here.
