    Verdict

SHAM SHEER should be worth persevering with in this finale; the horses to follow him home in the places may be Classically and Striding Edge. Luca Cumani's Cape Cross gelding has been in good form since his summer break. He has won two of his three starts and was second in the other, perhaps partly because he was a bit keen and ended up chasing too strong a tempo. If more settled in this field from his good draw then he should run well. The return to an artificial surface should suit Spring Adventure who is starting to look fairly handicapped, Striding Edge is consistent and runs this track well, whilst Reaction ran fairly well on his recent comeback and should have come on plenty for the run. The maidens Piccolo Mondo and Papyrian look likely to stay that way, so a bigger threat may be recent winners Classically and Red Suede Shoes who both scored over the course and distance when last seen on the racetrack. The market should help provide some further clues, however without that information we will side with Sham Sheer.
