In depth
Verdict
La Rosa Nostra made a very favourable impression on her debut and gets the verdict here, Shamayel and Freedom Song look to be the main dangers. Walter Swinburn's charge finished a close up sixth over course and distance behind Blue Sky Basin. The form is working out pretty well and the experience of the surface will stand her in good stead here this afternoon. Shamayal has also just had the one run and it was very promising as she was a three length second to Joffes Run at Salisbury. It is hard to assess the form as yet but some top yards had runners so it could be fairly decent. Freedom Song looks the pick of the newcomers being by Singspiel out of a Marju mare and Roger Charlton is a master at getting one ready first time out. All in all this does look to be a decent maiden and La Rosa Nostra is taken to land first prize.
