Verdict
The Tatling was the model of consistency last season and is taken to defy his penalty here with Colonel Cotton and Bali Royal rated the main dangers. The last two mentioned filled the first two places in a similar contest at Newmarket last season and there should not be a great deal between the pair again. However, both have penalties to carry and have a bit to find with the selection on official BHB ratings. Life is always tough for three-year-olds against older horses at this stage of the season so Boogie Street may be best watched, while the well treated Border Subject is an unknown quantity at the minimum trip having done all of his previous racing over further. Little Edward and Peruvian Chief have claims on their best but are likely to come up short against The Tatling, who ran up to form on his reappearance in France and, back on a fast surface, gets the vote to go one better.
