Verdict
Malarkey who has been much improved this term, and has been given a break since winning at Newbury last month for which the son of Mukaddamah has gone up a further 6lbs, has obvious claims but we would rather side with Treasure Trail. The selection had slipped to a favourable mark prior to returning to winning ways when staying on strongly to land a handicap at Bath on Thursday. Turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty, Sylvester Kirk's gelding looks worth a bet to follow up. Brendan Powell's Linens Flame has been in good form on the soft this term but a combination of faster ground and a rise in the weights may prove to be his undoing. The booking of Richard Hughes for Head To Kerry takes the eye, while Peak Park could be of interest off his light weight but the vote goes to Treasure Trail.
