In depth

Verdict

Baily Green was second over fences here yesterday. He very rarely runs over hurdles and is rated a long way behind TED VEALE and Plinth. The former is also better known as a chaser these days but showed with a cracking effort when a close third behind Katie T in a Grade B handicap at Leopardstown in January that he still has what it takes over timber. Plinth looked as though he could go on to bigger things when completing a double in November which is why he then twice finished a long way behind Hurricane Fly in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown and ran in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham. He'll find this less daunting and looks the main threat. Grand Partner carried a big weight to victory at Navan in March but had no answer when tackling Nichols Canyon at Aintree.
