      Verdict

Ilwadod gets the call in a wide-open affair, with Siegfrieds Night, Selebela and True To Yourself just three more in with chances. Mick Channon and Kevin Darley team up with Ilwadod who bids to atone for a narrow defeat in heavy ground at Newcastle three weeks ago. Prior to that the son of Cadeaux Generaux had opened his account over a mile and a quarter at Nottingham and so the step back up in trip here will help. The ground is on the fast side today but now that he has hit form, Ilwadod is worth siding with. He is drawn on the stands side, while one of his main dangers, Siegfrieds Night, is on the far side in stall 12. He gained his first Turf victory when coming late to score at Ripon in similar company recently, and despite a rise in the weights, should not be left out. Selebela was very impressive in a fillies' handicap over the course and distance eight days ago, despite unshipping her pilot beforehand and doing a circuit. With Luca Cumani's team in form, she is another for the short-list with Johnny Murtagh in the saddle. True To Yourself dispelled any doubts about his stamina when winning over this trip at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. He will find this track a different kettle of fish though, while Vicario and Three Welshmen have a bit more to do than of late. It is still a very competitive contest on paper, with Ilwadod the selection.
