Verdict
RUBY CROWN is our call with Quinte Du Chatalet and Quick Live others to make a degree of appeal. The mare didn't help herself with a stumble at a vital stage of her Exeter reappearance so in some respects, that line of form can be ignored. She won this race last year and as she acts on the surface, she should be sure to give another good account. This will be no easy to task for Quinte Du Chatalet under top weight. It will be interesting to see how he gets on with a substantial drop in trip this afternoon. Quick Live has not had much experience of a softer surface though there is enough in the pedigree to suggest that he should be capable of acting upon it. Caliban is towards the veteran stage of his career although the handicapper seems to finally have relented somewhat. Pistolet Dove made all to take a Perth bumper a couple of seasons ago though life has proved a little more difficult since. Amwell Brave is arguably better with less give underfoot. Zen Factor has the edge of racefitness and has managed to hit the frame under similar conditions in the past. Kassuta seems best of the rest. Ruby Crown can prove the queen of the last.
