Tadaawol returned to winning ways at Carlisle two weeks ago but steps up a grade here off a 5lb higher mark. Ptarmigan Ridge and Twin Appeal, on the other hand, head in the opposite direction having raced in stronger company last time. Spun Gold wasn’t beaten far at Newmarket last time and is only 2lb higher, though has only won on Fibresand so far. PURSUING STEED should be approaching peak fitness after a couple of starts and is two from two over course and distance. His victory here last July came off a pound higher mark and he looks poised to strike again with Charlie Bennett taking off a handy 3lb. Veterans Showboating and Boots And Spurs are starting to look well treated but are not exactly in the best of form. Zeyzoun is having a first run for Chris Wall and has been gelded since winning a minor contest in France in October.
