In depth
Verdict
In an interesting Conditions race, The Trader gets the call over Tax Free and Boogie Street. Fourth in the Nunthorpe Stakes last time, and with several good Group efforts to his name, The Trader comes here in good heart and, being a course distance scorer, he could well prove the one to beat today. Tax Free has hinted at being a success in the big time for a while and, while he has fallen short of that, a very good fifth in the Stewards Cup, followed by a very good Listed run last time, would appear to give him a very good chance at this level today. A return to last autumn's form would give Maltese Falcon a shout although Boogie Street holds him based on form and, while the latter has gone off the boil of late, a return to anywhere near his best would give him a very good chance. However, for the winner we return to The Trader.
