In depth

Verdict

This looks a poor contest and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Monachello, who is marginally preferred to Converti and Tina's Ridge. The last mentioned ran better at Bath last time but has yet to prove himself on ground this soft, although Reg Hollinshead's colt is bred to handle it. Fizzy Bella is hard to recommend on all known form, while Dr Light has similarly given little cause for optimism so far. Winter Lane may do better now racing on testing ground but has been well beaten in both starts so far. Paul Cole's Converti is unproven on ground this testing but would have claims if handling it although Monachello has solid claims of resuming winning ways in this lowly grade and is preferred.
