In depth
Verdict
None are easily dismissed but Mountain Brave missed out on a hat-trick off today’s mark at Haydock and Fox Hill was beaten over track and trip attempting to repeat last month’s victory at Thirsk. That could leave the way clear for PORTUGUESEPRINCESS, who can race off the same mark as when third at Newmarket on her handicap debut and she gets the nod. Colouring scored on the all-weather when last in action in December while Lua De Mel finished runner-up in a lower grade at Lingfield in March but Clever Candy has had a recent run and scored over course and distance last year. Lethal Angel has plenty to find with the selection and Sweet Pursuit is another returning from a lay-off.
