        Verdict

        Blind Beggar, a dual all-weather winner over the winter, started favourite for a Redcar handicap after a cracking run in a big field at Doncaster but ran poorly, which wasn't his form. Tyger Bay ended last year with a double at Lingfield and continued to run well on Polytrack before two good efforts on soft ground at Windsor. BROKEN SPEAR makes a quick reappearance after a fair run at Chester on Wednesday. He had earlier had Cold Stare five lengths behind when runner-up over this track and trip and can get back to winning ways. Sovereign Slipper completed an all-weather hat-trick at the end of 2021 and may still be capable of better.
