This lowly claimer for lady riders isn't one to get too excited about, but for a tentative selection we'll put forward RED CURRENT, in preference to Afram Blue and Ambrose Princess. Red Current looks the pick of the two Ron Harris runners: she races over this trip for the first time in nearly a year. Her four wins have come over slightly shorter, but the manner of victory here over a mile and a quarter on her penultimate run suggests the step up won't be a problem. Not the most consistent, but certainly better than many of these. Afram Blue returned to turf last time out and was backed down to 10 to 1 when winning at Salisbury. That was at a better level than this, and again although not the most consistent, certainly competitive at this standard. Ambrose Princess should have benefited from a 6 week lay off, following a decent summer. Her last outing was maybe one too many following a string of seconds to her name in handicaps. She's yet to win outside of selling company though. Beware of the princesses here as there are Ambrose and Enderby. Short priced favourites have won this race for the last couple of years; prior to that there were some very big winners, indicating the unpredictability of it. Our suggestion though is Red Current.
