      Verdict

This looks an exceptionally strong line-up for such a moderate prize with several choicely-bred newcomers taking on youngsters who have shown promise. The latter brigade most certainly include HILLSTAR and it's Sir Michael Stoute's Derby entry, a half-brother to Crystal Capella among others, who is given the nod after an eye-catching introduction at Sandown. Flashlight has done nothing wrong and will handle the going while Sea Shanty didn't seem at his best at Newbury after an impressive introduction behind the high-class Moohaajim at Ascot. Pythagorean has been a bit unfortunate not to have won by now and will surely be doing so before the season ends while newcomers Breden and Public are out of Group 3 winners and should have bright futures. though none of the first-timers can be ruled out.
