Verdict
We like the look of, possibly, Principal Witness here, but Different Planet, Master Theo, Tableau, Super King and a number of the newcomers must also be considered. We believe that the selection can come on again for his staying-on fourth behind Madid at Newbury last time, a race that seemed a fair maiden. He is going in the right direction and should run well today. Different Planet showed plenty of promise when fourth to Credit on his Newbury debut, while Master Theo's eighth to Rehearsal at Newmarket indicated that he could be progressing along the right lines too. After Lent is related to a number of winners. Mark Johnston runs Chisel, who showed some promise on her debut. She is by Hector Protector out of a daughter to the top-class Oaks winner Time Charter so she should improve in time although she will have to step up a lot on that debut effort. Peter Harris's Dan di Canio is one to watch out for in the betting, while the form of Super King's second to On The Wing at Newcastle last October looks reasonable, so he too should be respected. Tableau's form rates a little higher - around the mid-80s - which puts him bang in the picture so expect him to be in the shake-up. However, unless the betting tells a radically different story, we will opt for Principal Witness.
