Verdict

Aidan O'Brien had five of the original dozen entries and relies on Bondi Beach and Cradle Mountain. The former looked very smart when catching his odds-on stablemate Bantry Bay over this course and distance last month and has a Group 2 entry. Although the winning margin was only a short-head he won hard-held and comes into the 'could be anything' category. Cradle Mountain looked in need of this sort of trip when runner-up over 1m2f in a tough handicap at the Curragh, though he'll need to improve again to beat RADANPOUR. Dermot Weld's charge didn't have much to do to beat two rivals on testing ground at Gowran but was very impressive and his trainer nominated this as his target after the race. Blue Paraiba steps up in trip and class after her convincing maiden victory at Fairyhouse while Wooden Heart made a similarly strong impression at Clonmel where the soft ground appeared to suit.
