Willie Mullins has won this three times in recent years and has five entries. Jockey bookings are unlikely to be of significance though Billy Lee rode one of those winners and Royal Illusion isn’t badly treated, though could only finish sixth a year ago when SHOSHONE WARRIOR was runner-up. The latter has moved from Aidan to Joseph O’Brien subsequently and ran his best race for some time at Killarney so gets the vote to go one better. Emmet Mullins has again booked Wesley Joyce for Crowns Major, an impressive winner over 1m4f at Galway, though a 14lb rise makes this more difficult and runner-up Longbourn is entitled to get much closer. Roscommon maiden winner Ciel D’afrique looks a real staying type as does Phoenix Cowboy, a very convincing winner at Gowran, but Ever Present has gone up 5lb for finishing second at the Curragh.
