Verdict

Dermot Weld won this three years in succession with Famous Name and Fascinating Rock is a very intriguing entry. He began the last campaign with a hat-trick on soft ground including two races here over 1m2f. He then ran in the Derby's at Epsom and the Curragh on quicker going and hasn't been seen since. CHOPIN has an even longer absence to contend with having failed to reappear after a decent effort in the Lockinge in May when trained in Germany. He should do well for Ger Lyons this season and the ground will be in his favour so he gets the nod. Cougar Mountain made a belated winning start to his career over 6f on fast ground at Naas in June. He was confined to sprints in three subsequent runs and has never raced beyond 6f. Alive Alive Oh is a Listed winner on soft ground and has the advantage of a recent run and Euphrasia has won at that level around here though she's likely to need further.
