Verdict

This Group 3 has produced several outstanding winners from the Bolger and O'Brien yards including Teofilo, New Approach, Rip Van Winkle and last year Gleneagles. This time it could be Jim Bolger's turn as SANUS PER AQUAM has looked a very impressive performer in his victories here and at the Curragh and will be very difficult to beat. Kevin Ryan sends Taking Libertys over from Yorkshire and though he's only won narrowly at Beverley and Pontefract he's looked certain to be suited by this longer trip and wouldn't be arriving here without good reason. Lieutenant General, who was runner-up to the selection on his debut at the Curragh, has subsequently been beaten when long odds-on for a Naas maiden so Deauville, who ploughed through the Listowel mud to make a successful debut in May, could prove best of the Ballydoyle duo.
