Verdict

Dessie Hughes has won this twice in recent years and is double handed with the novice Minsk potentially well treated on his handicap debut. The lightly-raced Talbot Road is another novice having his first start in a handicap and could also be well treated as he has plenty more to offer. King Vuvuzela has been raised 10lb for beating Cairdin over 2m1f here on St Stephens Day and the runner-up should get much closer on the revised terms. Daring Article was fancied for the Paddy Power here but fell six out when still there. He completed a double over further earlier and will be staying on when others have had enough. Canaly wasn't beaten far by him at Punchestown and was made too much use of in the Paddy Power so he's one with a chance and he had Immediate Response behind when scoring at Clonmel a year ago. The latter would have finished second to MAKE A TRACK at Limerick last month but for falling and the winner ran so poorly at Thurles subsequently that there must have been something amiss. He's given the nod to bounce back as last year's Paddy Power winner Colbert Station is 18lb higher and Grade 2 winner Buckers Bridge is looking a bit high in the weights.
