    Verdict

Percy Veer won four times on the Flat up to 1m6f. He’s been making steady progress over hurdles but a switch to handicaps might benefit. Bumper winner Catwalk King has twice only found one too good over timber and should be winning soon but could find CALTEX a tough nut to crack today. Gordon Elliott’s charge finished a close second at Punchestown on his hurdling debut and was then only headed on the post when odds-on in a maiden at Thurles – he should go one better here. Jammy George was highly tried on his debut over timber at Naas and should find this easier so can’t be ignored.
