In depth

None of these arrive in top form though Grey Waters, who pulled up twice over fences last month, didn't run badly over a trip too short on his return to the Flat at Leopardstown. Massini's Trap ran poorly over hurdles at the backend of last year but he's only 2lb higher than when scoring over 2m2f at Chepstow in August. Awayinthewest has been busy over hurdles but needs a thorough test of stamina and would prefer softer ground so the vote goes to VENEZIA (NAP). Edward O'Grady's grey beat a big field over 1m5f at Navan in April and though 10lb higher has continued to run well in better company over this sort of trip. Contrapposto has never raced beyond 1m4f.

Venezia (IRE) 9-2 (9-6) Held up on outer towards rear, pushed along early straight, ridden and no impression 1 1/2f out, went 5th early final furlong and kept on one pace, 5th of 10, 4 3/4l behind Kerosin (10-0) at Navan 2m hcp Good - Yielding in Jun.

Awayinthewest (IRE) 20-1 (11-9) Towards rear, headway into moderate 6th before straight, kept on without threatening, 4th of 14, 8 1/4l behind Stacks Mountain (11-2) at Punchestown 3m hcp Yielding in Jun.

Grey Waters (IRE) 14-1 (9-4) Chased leaders, 3rd halfway, ridden 3f out, under pressure in 5th 2f out, kept on one pace, 6th of 13, 6 1/2l behind Monaco Rose (9-0) at Leopardstown 1m 5f hcp gd in Jun.

Teologia (IRE) 14-1 (9-13) Tracked leader, headway to lead after 4f, pushed along and headed early straight, soon no extra and eased from over 1f out, 12th of 17, 30 3/4l behind Linger (8-7) at Gowran Park 1m 6f hcp Yielding - Soft in May.

City Limits 8-1 (11-5) Mid-division and 4th from halfway, pushed along from 2 out and ridden in 5th from last, soon no impression and kept on into 4th close home, 4th of 7, 11 1/2l behind Song Of Namibia (11-2) at Downpatrick 2m 1f Yielding in Jun.

Massini's Trap (IRE) 18-1 (11-3) In rear, bad mistake and almost unseated rider 8th, 7th approaching next, mistake 4 out, not fluent 3 out and no impression, no extra straight, 6th of 8, 32 1/2l behind Thermistocles (10-11) at Clonmel 3m hcp gd in Nov.

Lleyton (IRE) 6-1 (10-12) Mid-division and 4th from halfway, not fluent 4 out and mistake next, again not fluent 2 out and soon weakened, pulled up before last, at Kilbeggan 2m hcp gd in May.

Poitin 14-1 (9-2) Towards rear, 10th halfway, headway on outer over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, no impression and weakened over 1f out, 15th of 18, 12 1/4l behind Roses Queen (8-11) at Fairyhouse 1m 4f hcp Good - Yielding in Jun.

Contrapposto (IRE) 10-1 (10-1) Towards rear, 8th halfway, dropped to rear over 4f out, ran off home bend, ridden and headway 1f out, stayed on well to 3rd closing stages, never nearer, 3rd of 9, 7 1/2l behind Jake Peter (9-12) at Fairyhouse 1m 4f hcp Good - Yielding in Jun.

Sang Tiger (GER) 20-1 (9-8) Soon mid-division, switched right into straight, carried left 1 1/2f out, one pace, 12th of 16, 9 1/4l behind Galeola (9-5) at Leopardstown 1m 7f hcp gd in Jun.
