Verdict
This won't take much winning and Santando looks the one to be with. He isn't the quickest animal in training, but he does stay well and wasn't ridden to best advantage last time, where he was held up in a slowly run race. Hopefully he will have more use made of him today and he is taken to prove too strong for his rivals. He may have most to fear from Double Mystery, who is out of a mare that won five races in France. He showed promise as a juvenile for Mark Johnston and can be expected to show improvement for the step up in trip. Newcomer Regal Repose is out of a mare that won six races, one of them over course and distance and she wouldn't have to be anything special to make a winning debut.
