Verdict

With the exception of Cheese n' Biscuits and Lakelands Lady, who are both outclassed, the others all have a chance of sorts. Rifleman does need to improve on what he has shown so far, but he is from the same family as the high-class Observatory, who himself got better as he got older. Mysterinch ended last year by winning a valuable Doncaster nursery and while that still leaves him with a bit to find, he is sure to have progressed over the winter. Agilis has been running well through the winter and comes into this fit, but he does have something to find, while Hoh Investor has more to do than when winning a slowly run event here last month. He will need to improve for the step up in trip, something he isn't guaranteed to do. Pretence is on the upgrade and comes here fit. He is sure to have plenty of support and will expose any chinks in Wimple's armour, should Clive Brittain's filly not be fully wound up. Out of a mare that won four races in the U.S.A. she is related to smart dirt performer Baron de Vaux, so there should be no reason why she shouldn't be at home on this surface.
