In depth

Verdict

Bangkok comes out best at the weights and beat FOREST OF DEAN in the Winter Derby Trial over track and trip in February. But the latter has less than a length to find having subsequently gone on to land the Winter Derby itself and the Godolphin charge doesn’t look to have stopped improving yet having missed the whole of last year. Assimilation is a tough handicapper and had Sky Defender back in third when scoring over course and distance earlier while Palavecino has something to prove at this level though may show further progress this year and is preferred to Byford.
