Verdict
Greenwood deserves to win a race of this nature but has become difficult to win with so may be best left out of calculations with preference for Trimlestown, who gets the vote ahead of Taranaki. The selection is less exposed than most of these and looks to still be on a fair mark so Henry Candy's colt may be worth another chance in a race that may not take a great deal of winning. Wheelavit has a similar profile to the selection but has yet to prove that he is as effective over this trip. Pure Imagination is on a long losing sequence but has had little respite from the handicapper, while Secret Assassin took a long time to finally open his account and would probably want a faster surface before he wins again. Taranaki had been expensive to follow, very much like Greenwood, but has been in much better form of late; however, Peter Cundell's gelding now looks to be plenty high enough in the weights and preference is for Trimlestown.
