Verdict

Stanhope Forbes carries most weight but could be up to the task against Pardon Moi and Red Rocky who are seen as the main dangers. Stanhope Forbes is by no means a world beater but so nearly opened his account in selling company here just before Christmas when touched off by Must Be So. He would have surely won in another stride, and then was rather unfortunate to suffer a tardy start when fifth in nursery company a week ago. Both efforts suggest that there is a race to be won with him, and with Eddie Aherne to do the steering, Nick Littmoden¿s charge is the one to beat. Pardon Moi gained her sole victory at Yarmouth in the summer, but has shown enough since to warrant a mention. She was traveling well from off the pace at Wolverhampton last time, and should be suited by the drop back in trip today. Red Rocky is still learning and flashed her tail when asked to go about her business here eight days ago. Apart from Costa Del Sol, the others make no appeal and Stanhope Forbes gets the nod.
