Verdict

Super Collider sets the standard but proved expensive to follow last season so it may be worth taking a chance with either DIRECT ANSWER or Eavesdropper on debut. The suggestion is the Sir Michael Stoute trained runner who is related to a number of winners and wouldn't need to be out of the ordinary to open his account at the first time of asking. Eavesdropper is the second foal of a smart dam and his half-brother developed into a useful performer so it will be interesting to see how the two newcomers fare in the market with neither boasting any lofty entries at this stage. Super Collider was beaten at short prices twice last season but showed a decent level of form and he's entitled to find some improvement for this step up in trip. Destiny Blue showed ability behind Rumoush in November and there should be more to come from Whitby Jack and Dynamic Drive in the fullness of time but we'll take a chance with Direct Answer.
