    Verdict

TIMEPIECE is the proven class-act in the field so she is fancied to see off the potential class-act Ceilidh House and Dyna Waltz. Henry Cecil knows what it takes to win this race having saddled Double Crossed to win this race in 2001 and Midday last year. The last-named went on to be second in the Oaks itself so this well-thought-of Zamindar filly looks the obvious place to start. She was disappointing behind Rumoush on her reappearance but this longer trip looks likely to suit and with that run for fitness under her belt she can carry her Listed race penalty (gained as a two-year-old) to victory. Bebopalula trounced a poor field at Windsor last time when racing off a mark of 68. She has the potential to improve but will have to live up to her nice pedigree in order to feature here. Perhaps a more realistic danger could be Ceilidh House who impressed with the manner of her victory last October. She looks sure to improve further this year over this sort of trip and connections won the Oaks with Look Here in 2008. Blast Furnace shaped with promise at Newbury last month but this is a big ask, whilst Dyna Waltz should be happier now stepped up in trip. She was poor in the Nell Gwyn but remains a filly of interest. Golden Waters completes the field but she has not suggested in two runs that she is up to this class and so we are happy to return to Timepiece as the likeliest winner.
