Verdict
The in-form Tarawan looks very difficult to oppose in the apprentices' handicap and we will side with him again. The seven-year-old seems to have been rejuvenated by Andrew Balding over the winter period and his come-from-behind tactics are particularly suited to a track like Lingfield Park. A winner under amateur handling at Doncaster, he won well for Tom Block at Leicester and the pair look to have been found a soft opportunity to score again. Bank on Him has become a real standing dish for punters at Lingfield Park and he has now gone into the care of Colin Weedon. As much as the heart would like him to win, our minds tell us that he is a much more realistic proposition in claimers and sellers these days until the handicapper relents. A comment that equally applies to Easter Ogil also. Tight Squeeze has run creditably in handicap company without necessarily winning his fair share. He remains in good heart but the handicapper may well have him nowadays. Windy Britain ran an odd race at his previous Wolverhampton appearance. Upfront early doors, he was outpaced before staying on again. It is interesting that Luca Cumani has him in training at four but we will pass until there is more creditably racecourse form to make a judgement upon. Superchief is stepped up significantly to today's trip. There hasn't been anything of late to suggest that this will work the oracle but he does seem to reserve his best performances for the track and we will watch the market for clues. African Sahara has ran well over a mile and looks on the upgrade. Despite carrying top-weight, he looks a more credible alternative to the favourite.
