In depth
Verdict
David Evans has done so well with his runners over the last year that his runner, Rapid City, is bound to be popular with backers especially having been narrowly beaten by Hereford Boy over a mile here last month and the longer trip should not inconvenience him but he seems too high in the weights and a better bet may be LAURELDEANS BEST, who gets the vote with Bolanderi rated the best of the remainder. The selection is less exposed than most of these after just five career starts, the last two of which have been on Southwell's Fibresand, and she should appreciate the return to the Polytrack so looks worth siding with now that Richard Fahey is back among the winners again. Stan Moore's Officer In Command has run creditably in his last two starts but has yet to convince that he truly stays this far. Hugh Collingridge's Bid For Glory has been running well at Wolverhampton of late but has yet to run on this faster Polytrack surface and may be best watched, while only one win from 17 starts is a concern for Black N Brew. Andrew Turnell's Bolanderi showed decent form in the autumn and has to be respected given that he is likely to come on for his recent run at Wolverhampton but more solid claims are held by Laureldeans Best, who can give Richard Fahey another winner.
