In depth

Verdict

Not a strong maiden and preference is for MEMORANDUM ahead of Sakile and Mosa Mine. The selection, an Oasis Dream filly, was third at Bath last month when reverting to the minimum trip. She ran well in defeat and her form looks like some of the more solid on offer. Avon Castle looks an interesting newcomer despite her yard not being renowned for debutant winners, whilst Mosa Mine has shaped with promise in two decent contests and she has experience of an artificial surface as well which should be in her favour. Also of interest is Sakile who was well-fancied on debut at Pontefract but flopped behind Hafawa, and her follow-up run at Folkestone was no better. She has been given four months off since that run however and is one to take seriously with Jimmy Fortune booked. Youcanalwaysdream will be handicapped after this run, whilst the more experienced pair of Bush Master and Papageno have both been exposed as fairly modest. Newcomer Cosimo De Medici needs watching in the betting despite only fetching 800 guineas this year, however it is Memorandum who is preferred.
