Verdict

Hucking Harmony did well to finish third after running very wide on the turn for home on debut and is taken to score today, although New Balls Please and newcomers Monsieur Reynard warrant plenty of respect. These early-season maidens are often a minefiled for punters, however the selection looks to have plenty of scope for improvement based on her debut. After breaking well, she was still going the best when showing extreme greenness on the bend and if straighter today, she could take some pegging back. New Balls Please made a pleasing debut in a weak contest over course and distance so can again go well, however of more interest may be Cake. Richard Hannon's newcomer looks the part on breeding and with the stable notching a winner with their first two-year-old the other day, market support should be heeded. Monsieur Reynard is certainly another newcomer to watch in the market and being by Compton Place, he should have the necessary pace for this minimum trip. Watch the betting for clues, however for the winner we will return to John Best's Hucking Harmony.
