In depth

Verdict

Clive Brittain has enjoyed a profitable campaign on the all-weather tracks during the winter and the Newmarket handler can add to the tally here with Dutch Gold. The son of Lahib has not been seen in action since disappointing in the Royal Lodge but was facing a stiff task there and is better judged on previous efforts when showing plenty of ability in useful company at Chester and Doncaster. The three-year-old meets nothing of that calibre here and should be fit enough to make a winning seasonal return at this level. Musical Gift didn't appear to handle Fibresand last time but is proving expensive to follow and, although he should confirm last month's course placings with Miss Grace, his overall form leaves him with something to find. Iwo Jima met a smart performer in the making when runner-up over course and distance last time and looks best of the remainder.
