Verdict
Adiemus was a most progressive performer on the all-weather last season and completed a four-timer in this event twelve months ago. Jeremy Noseda's charge suffered a leg injury which curtailed his turf career but has looked as good as ever in two outings over course and distance this year and should now be cherry ripe to defend his crown under last year's winning rider, Shane Kelly. Parasol is a smart turf performer and was given a fine tactical ride when handing out a two-and-a-half length defeat of the selection last month but will struggle to confirm the form on 9lb worse terms. Kirovski also holds a verdict over Adiemus when the pair were separated by a half-length over C&D in January but the selection was in need of the outing on that occasion and can reverse the placings despite being 5lb worse off at the weights. Norton is a useful miler on the turf and is an interesting contender if handling the Polytrack while pawn Broker ran encouragingly here last time and could reach a place. The beautifully bred Shami showed improvement to land a competitive handicap here last time but this represents a much stiffer task while the similarly named Sharmy proved a major disappointment last time and now has something to prove.
