Verdict
A race to tread carefully with as Hefin looks to be almost too obvious a selection judging by his recent form, but as the rest are hardly improving at this stage of their careers, the Ian Woods-trained gelding is selected over Jadeeron, Camzo and Maystock. Although a watchful eye should be kept on Killing Joke in the betting as he has, as yet, failed to live up to expectations, but has been found a weak race to continue his education with. However, Hefin has the most solid profile from recent times and will be a tough customer to deal with if he arrives here in the same frame of mind as he was in when he out-battled Bold Ewar at Salisbury at the start of this month. The weights for this race do hint at a reversal of the form though so a saver on Bold Ewar is also advised if there is confidence behind his chance. Camzo may prove to be the best of the rest and comes from a yard that are really starting to fire again as the season draws to a close. But Hefin is the percentage call and just takes the plaudit as the main hope.
