    In depth

    Verdict

Green Manalishi should come on a bundle for his return at Wolverhampton earlier this month but is much better over five furlongs so may be best watched again today and preference is for the in-form Perfect Story, who gets the vote ahead of Fromsong. The last mentioned is now 7lbs higher than when scoring here over the minimum trip two starts ago and was well held off his new mark over this trip at Wolverhampton last time so may be best watched now. Polish Emperor would have claims on his best but trainer Walter Swinburn's horses have gone rather quiet of late and of more interest may be Charlie Egerton's Russian Symphony, who may do better back in distance having seemingly failed to stay seven furlongs last time. Recent Wolverhampton winner Chateau Nicol remains feasibly well treated and is another to consider along with the reappearing Katiypour, although lack of a recent run for the Brooke Sanders-trained gelding would be of concern. The vote then goes to Perfect Story, who has won his last two starts over seven furlongs with something in hand and should not be inconvenienced by the drop back to six today.
