      Verdict

A trappy contest if ever there was one, with plenty of exposed sorts and five course and distance winners along them, and we will take a chance on Justalord, with Joyeaux, Kennington and One Way Ticket all having prospects. Justalord heads the weights and has taken a hefty tumble down them to a mark of 70, from which he is more than capable of succeeding. Trainer Andy Crook does not send many down to Lingfield, and this gelding acts well on the surface and over this minimum trip and a chance is taken with him. Joyeaux drops back to five furlongs and may just find that things happen a little bit too quickly, but she has ability and will be staying on at the death. Kennington is probably better at six furlongs and on slower ground than he will encounter here, but he also has the form to suggest he can again make the frame, while most interesting of the remainder is One Way Ticket. Potentially very well handicapped, Milton Bradley's five-year-old has good form off a 20lb higher mark than this on turf, and as one who goes well on fast ground, the trainer might just have sneaked one on the handicapper here. We shall see soon enough, but we will stick with Justalord.
