In depth
Verdict
Arnie de Burgh showed enough on his debut to warrant support here and he can beat Dudley Docker and Bold Maggie. This modestly bred colt ran a blinder on his first racecourse start to finish a close up third behind City Zone. On the face of it this is a step down in class and with improvement expected, he should be capable of landing this. Mark Tompkins is double handed, Ben Bacchus is steadily getting the hang of this game, but Dudley Docker has shown the better form. He finished a close second to the Cumani trained Croon last time and must go close under Dane O'Neill. Bold Maggie hails from the in form Gary Moore yard and has been brought along patiently by his shrewd handler since his August debut, expect a much improved performance from this. The rest have very little to recommend them, so Arnie de Burgh doesn't have too difficult a task and is a confident choice.
