In depth
Verdict
Dr Synn was well backed and narrowly beaten at Kempton on Wednesday and her supporters could be compensated here, with United Spirit and Polar Magic put forward as the main dangers. The selection ran really well last time behind Farewell Gift and given that she is turned out again very quickly she looks to have decent claims of going close, even though this is a more difficult assignment. United Spirit won well here last time on the AW and is entitled to plenty of respect. She is sure to run a big race and it would be a surprise if she did not make the frame. Polar Magic won his maiden well at Thirsk and is interesting on his handicap debut. A watching brief on the market is advised for this nicely-bred colt from the James Fanshawe yard. Princess Galadriel is a fair sort who looks to have place prospects, but we will stick with Dr Synn as our idea of the winner.
