made all, led, shaken up 2f out, stayed on well, driven out
in rear, ridden over 3f out, never on terms
took keen hold, prominent, under pressure 2f out, soon weakened
in touch, hampered, checked and lost place after 2f, headway 2f out, stayed on final furlong, not reach leaders
tracked winner to over 2f out, soon lost place, eased inside final 2f
slowly into stride, in rear, some headway well over 1f out, never nearer
slowly into stride, headway on inner over 1f out into 4th, no extra final furlong
tracked leaders, chased winner 2f out, effort over 1f out, not quicken and soon one pace
The vote here goes to Annabelle Ja ahead of Shardia and, possibly, Starship. With both Turf and Polytack form adding up to a rating in the mid-80s, Annabelle Ja looks to be a leading player here. It's as simple as that. Bellabelini's second at Wolverhampton over a shorter trip last time gives her a shout for a place. Devine Dancer has around four lengths to find on that form, while Night Rainbow has a length and a half to claw back. The 24,000 guineas purchase, Shardia, has to be of some interest on her debut, while Miss Highjinks is related to a number of winners but did not show too much on her debut. Finally, Starship, who has some interesting owners, showed enough on her debut to suggest that she should at least be considered but, overall, we are happy to side with Annabelle Ja.
